Ras Mohamed National
Park
In 1988 Ras Mohammed was finally declared a National
Marine Park, Egypt’s first. Located 30 km south of Sharm
El Sheikh on the road from El Tor, its boundaries extend
all the way up to Sharm El Sheikh. It occupies the
extreme southern tip of the peninsula and is considered
by many to be.The scuba diving heaven all-over the
world.
Only 12 percent of the park is accessibletovisitors .
Resorts or hotels must not build on the area.

Al-Arish
From the Bedouin
encampments and palm trees, North Sinai’s population is
concentrated around the town of Al-Arish. It is located
130 km east of the Suez Canal, directly on the
Mediterranean.With a population of 40,000 it is the
biggest town in Sinai . Recent efforts gave it the
touristic nature of other sites in Sinai. Its main
attraction are the palm-fringed and magnificent beaches.
There are plenty of reasonable priced hotels and
restaurants. |

St.
Catherine’s Monastery
At the foot of Sinai Mountain lies the Monastery of St.
Catherine, with its 23 Orthodox monks. It was founded in
the 4th century A.D, and remains to be one of the major
tourist attractions in Sinai. It is dedicated to St.
Catherine, the legendary martyr of Alexandria |
